A few minutes ago, I heard the following:
Man: AAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Woman: EEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Motorcycle: Vroom!
<pause...repeat the whole cycle...twice>

From the voices, I'd guess they were both 20s or at most 30s. Both sounded more like "roaring my power at the night" voices as opposed to "killing / hurting / panicking" voices. It sounded like I was coming from a couple blocks down Seventh Ave (the ave I live on), more or less in the middle of the street. It's a good neighborhood, well lit and plenty of people moving around or looking out windows. even at 1:15 AM.
It's almost assuredly nothing. And yet, what if it *is* something? I can't see, so I have no way to know from here. By the time I could get shoes on and get down there, it would all have been over, as the whole thing lasted maybe thirty seconds. I'm 99.9% sure that's it's nothing...but there is that niggling 0.1%. And this kind of thing happens multiple times a night.
Lord, it's no wonder people go nuts living in the City.
