I deliberately chose to take a Stick and pass on my workout today...it meant that I got out the door ~45 minutes sooner to get up to CT, which is significant because, had I hbeen 45 minutes later to GCT, I would have arrived right after the train left and had to wait an hour for the next one.

The day was so light because today was Civ Foo, which is a games party through by the Columbia University Games Club (specifically by Blair and Jenn Seidler), so basically my only thing today was "go to CT, get car, drive to NJ".  :>   I did, and it was a blast.

In brief:  lots and lots and LOTS of games, fair amount of food, probably should have had more water, major fun.  Just got home (wasn't intended to work that way, but ended up being so.)  Pandemic was a big hit.  I will post more tomorrow.

Bleh.  I feel gross.  Not sure if it's improper food, insufficient water, or a mild stomach bug.  The water seems to help, so maybe that's all it is, but I've been really tired lately.  Bleh.  Stupid meatbag bioshell with its "needs" and its "nutritional requirements".  Bleh..  When are those stupid scientists going to get the bugs worked out of uploading?!!!

In better news, I'm going to a gaming party (Civ Foo) on Saturday!  Ironically, it's only a dozen or so miles west (in NJ), but I will first go to CT, get my car, and then drive down.  This will take about 1 hour 15 min, which is right about the same amount of time public transit would take.  And it will be a whole lot more comfortable and not require a 10 min walk at the end in maybe-rain.  I may go up Friday night--we'll see.

In anticipation of this cool event, I just bought Pandemic; I played it for the first and only time at [livejournal.com profile] majes  / [livejournal.com profile] ifuonlyknew  / [livejournal.com profile] jasra 's spring party this past weekend, and loved it.  Had to get my own copy, it was such a blast.  Pandemic is unusual in that it is completely cooperative--the only competition is against the game itself, not against the other players.  Good cooperative games are very hard to design, and Matt Leacock did a really good job.  The production values are excellent, and the price isn't too bad (~$35).

Also, Carrots and Sticks:

Carrots:  13
Sticks: 0

Probably could have done a harder workout, but it was enough.  For tomorrow, I've put "Hard workout" on the list so I don't let myself slack.  Also probably could have done more with a couple of my tasks, but again, I did a decent minimum.
